Title of the education: A TOWN FROM THE PAST – ONE DAY IN THE ŠEDUVA SHETTL Age group: all age groups Duration: 1.5-2 hours Have you ever wondered how the people of Lithuanian towns lived during the interwar period – what they did, what they were interested in and what they dreamed about? How did national communities – Lithuanians, Poles, Russians, Germans, Latvians and Jews – coexist on the same streets, calling the town a “shtetl”? This education will take you to the Šeduva shtetl – a world where the daily life of its inhabitants in the independent state of Lithuania was intertwined with centuries-old traditions, work – with creative activities, and the life of the community was colored by bold dreams of tomorrow. During the session, participants will learn what a shtetl is, how daily life took place in it, and what jobs its residents did. During creative tasks, conversations and playful activities, we will get to know the rhythm of interwar life, get acquainted with the environment of the Šeduva town and discover the words that sounded in the interwar shtetl. During the activity, general competencies are developed: cognitive competence, communication competence, cultural competence.
