Step into the Gallery of Dreams and Reality, and you’ll be surrounded by aspirations, hopes, and the quiet courage of a generation long past. This gallery is dedicated to the inhabitants of Šeduva in the 1920s and 1930s – men and women who dreamed of a better future despite uncertainty, hardship, and the shadow of antisemitism. Some chose to emigrate, seeking opportunity far from home; others pursued education and a life in Lithuania. Almost all of them dreamed of a prosperous and secure life with their loved ones.
Nearly a century later, those dreams continue to inspire. Our Dreams Interactive invites visitors of all ages to share their own dreams. In just three months since the opening of the museum, the interactive screen has been filled with a colorful tapestry of wishes – from everyday joys to bold ambitions, from health and happiness to first-place wins and speedy cars, and above all, hopes for peace and togetherness.
We’ve picked 10 of our favorite dream drawings to share here – each one a little spark of creativity, optimism, and imagination. These drawings remind us that dreaming isn’t just a personal act, but a universal one: a connection between past and present, a bridge between history and today.
May these dreams brighten your festive season, inspire reflection, and encourage you to dream alongside us. After all, whether in Šeduva nearly a century ago or in our gallery today, every dream matters, and every dreamer adds to the tapestry of hope.
