On June 28, the museum hosted a concert featuring participants and distinguished guests of the 8th International Saulius Sondeckis Competition for Young Violinists.
A large audience warmly welcomed each performer with enthusiastic applause. The museum was also presented with Leonidas Melnikas' two-volume monograph, Maestro Saulius Sondeckis, Volumes I & II, dedicated to Professor Saulius Sondeckis and his family. The Sondeckis family's history is closely connected with the rescue of Jews during the Second World War. In recognition of his courage and humanitarian actions, Saulius Sondeckis' father, Jackus Sondeckis, was awarded the title of Righteous Among the Nations.
