Mazel Tov on the Litvak Life Exhibition!
We are delighted to congratulate Dani Jaff-Klein and Leila Kuper on the launch of Litvak Life: Stories of Jewish Lithuania, an exhibition bringing together family photographs, letters and personal stories that offer a glimpse into the rich history and heritage of Lithuanian Jewish life.
It is wonderful to see this project come to life and to know that the stories of Lithuania’s Jewish shtetls are being shared with new audiences, helping to preserve and bring to life the memories of communities that once flourished across the country.
We are especially pleased to have been part of this process. The Lost Shtetl Museum was delighted to consult with the exhibition’s creators and contribute photographs from our own exhibition, along with two maps. The first is a historical map of Jewish communities in Lithuania, featured in the Lost Shtetl Museum’s permanent exhibition. The second, created by our team in collaboration with mapmaker Adomas Klimantas, shows the locations of shtetls on a map of present-day Lithuania.
We are glad to see these materials included in the temporary exhibition and contributing to its exploration of Lithuanian Jewish history and the stories of the people who shaped it.
