On March 15 at 12:00 PM, the Lost Shtetl Museum invites you to commemorate The Day of the Lithuanian Jewish Rescuers and to attend the opening of the exhibition “Righteous Among the Nations: Those Who Were Not Afraid to Die Became Immortal.”

The exhibition was created by Tauras Budzys and Barbora Karnienė, with exhibition design by Alfredas Simonavičius.

The exhibition tells the stories of people who, during the Holocaust, risked their own lives and the lives of their loved ones to rescue Jews. These are stories of moral choice, courage, and humanity in the face of unimaginable brutality.

During the commemoration, the names of Jewish rescuers from the Šiauliai region will be read aloud, honoring their memory and their contribution to shared historical remembrance.

Event participants will also have the opportunity to visit the museum’s permanent exhibition.

Event partner: Šiauliai Regional Jewish Community.

Please note that photography and filming may take place during the event. By attending, you consent to the use of visual material for museum publicity purposes.
