A Day of Remembrance in Šeduva

On August 25, we gathered in Šeduva to commemorate the Jews of Šeduva who were murdered on August 25–26, 1941. We joined the nationwide Holocaust remembrance initiative “The Road of Memory” (Atminties kelias).

As part of the memorial walk, we paid tribute to the victims of the Holocaust and read aloud the names of those who were murdered. Every name spoken is a reminder of a person — of their life, their family, their dreams, and the community they belonged to.

Together with our team, the commemoration was attended by members of the Šiauliai and Panevėžys Jewish communities, the Šeduva community, Šeduva Riflemen, Rabbis Sholom Ber Krinsky and Yizchak Pevzner, as well as Faina Kukliansky, Chairwoman of the Lithuanian Jewish Community.

Following the commemoration, we gathered in the events hall to watch Saulius Beržinis’ documentary film “Petrified Time” (Suakmenėjęs laikas).
